Kalyna

Hello all,
I have said before that I could post one Ukrainian embroidery pattern a day and not run out for years. Well, I have decided to try and see how far I can get.

Floral patterns in black and red have been embroidered in Ukraine since the beginning of the 19th cent. Here are a few that feature Kalyna, the Viburnum, which is so dear to the hearts of Ukrainians, being one of the symbols of the Ukrainian Nation. This type of pattern is done over most of Ukraine.
